Microsoft Word or something like it?

I just bought a laptop for college and its a used old one just to get me by, but it doesn't have microsoft word, or anything like that on it. it does have Windows XP but i was wondering where online i could get a free download of Microsoft Word or something like it? Open Office even?

THe open office suite is free and compatible with the MS products.

You can't get Microsoft Office free, and that's the only way to get Word. For your purposes, OpenOffice is just as good.
