Microsoft Wordpad problem?

Every time I try to open wordpad it immediately closes out. As soon as I click it it will open for a split second then it closes. How can I fix this? Or could I download wordpad from some other website for free?

WordPad is pretty useless. Terrible formatting capabilities, no spell checker, and the list goes on.

If you don't have enough money for Word, try out OpenOffice (http://www.openoffice.org). It's a free office suite like Microsoft Office that has similarly-functioning and compatible programs and you can legally redistribute it for free.

Once you install it, select the Writer program, which is the Word equivalent. Use that as a replacement for WordPad.

Anyway, that action might be the result of a virus.
