Question:

Microsoft Zune mp3 players and other questions about larger mp3 players?

I have a few questions about them.

First of all, the only mp3 players available that are larger than 16GB are iPod Classics and Microsoft Zunes right?

Are mp3 players this large delicate? Would I have to be extremelly careful with it? (Like more careful than a regular mp3 player?)

For those of you who have tried the Zune, is it more convienient than an iPod? Having to get iTunes and converting songs and such? Apparently iPods don't work with certain songs, like downloaded ones and such. Are zunes easier? I have had two mp3 players so far, and with both all I had to do was take the songs from a file in my music and copy them onto my mp3 player. Are Zunes more inconvienient?

Do you ahve to use the Zune Marketplace to put songs on your mp3 player? (Like can you just put music already on your computer on it?)

  1. You have more choices available to you than just the ipod and the Zune ,

Cowan , Archos , iRiver and Zen all make players over 30 GB.

  2. Large capacity mp3 players normaly have Hard drives not flash memory. Hard drive based DAPS have a tendency to crash when the player is bumped hard enough. I suggest flash based players do to the fact they are a lot more reliable and they also have 2x the battery life since theres no moving parts inside. When it comes to Ipod classics and zunes being "delicate" thats not the case. Its more like you dont want to just wreck something that cost $300+. Its something you want to be delicate with. Iv had trouble with a few songs going on my new nano after downloading them from Shareware programs. But its nothing downloading another version of the song didnt fix. Of course i have the original cds of all the songs i downloaded so its perfectly legal, right.  ;-)

  3. Tell me about how much are you willing to pay and the size you want it to be.

I suggest for something above 16gb the 32gb Ipod touch. As delicate as the others (scratch resistant screen and with a leather cover you're good to go). It has wifi, and all the other good features. Plus you can install random apps on it (some are awesome, some are plain useless :D)!

Only problem is it's 500 dollars in the Apple store and 450$ Street Price.

I have a 16gb ipod touch (because it's slightly thinner) and it's been serving me well!

Never had a zune but when I tried it my respect points for meh touch went up :).
