Microsoft might be launching the Xbox 720 earlier then they intended to
Xbox’s European head, Chris Lewis has gone on to reveal that Microsoft had initially predicted the Xbox 360 to have a ten year life expectancy. However, he has also gone on to confirm that they might just be tempted into launching the Xbox 720 during that
time frame.
When talking about the lifecycle of the 360, Lewis is quoted to have said, “We think we're a little over halfway with the life cycle of the console, but that's not to say there won't be an overlap.”
He then went on to drop massive hints over the fact that the 720 might be launching way sooner than most were expecting. Lewis then went on to add, “I'm not going to announce specifically or talk about timing.”
With Lewis then going on to put further emphasis over the fact that a lap was going to occur in the near future, he nearly confirmed all the speculations that have been stirring up in regards to the launch of the 720. Lewis said, “But you could imagine there
could be overlap, it depends. We're not being specific about the next generation at this stage. We're very fixated on what we're doing right now and the success we're enjoying.”
A majority of game producers have already been caught stating that the next generation of video game consoles are going to be hitting shelves sooner rather than later.
However, that being said, there is a lot that we can expect from the upcoming generation of consoles. Better ram, a much bigger hard disk, more external components and some have even gone far enough to state that the consoles will be able to produce graphics
that Avatar displayed.
Should that be the case, then games will be more realistic than they have ever been. At the same time, gameplay is more than likely to be more immersive than possible on current generation consoles. Microsoft are more than likely going to try and incorporate
the Kinect in the 720 straight off the bat, considering the interest it has generated following its release.
One of the major concerns regarding next gen consoles at the moment, is the pricing that is going to be incorporated in them. Given that the new consoles are going to be packing more hardware than ever before, their prices are also going to be adjusted that
way.
Nonetheless, considering that there have been no dates released as yet, one will have to wait and see just when Microsoft make their release date for the 720 public.
