Microsoft office XP Word problem help!?

i installed microsoft office xp and i opened word and everything is fine, except there are L shapes on the borders of the page and i dont know how to remove them. i didnt touch anything, thats just how it opened up. does anyone know?

  1. The L shapes are called "crop marks".  They don't print, so they don't really affect anything.  If they really bother you, then you can remove them by removing support for East Asian languages in Microsoft Office Language Settings as described at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=83937... "Margin marks or crop marks appear on each corner of the page when you open a document in Word".
