Microsoft office powerpoint viewer 2007 ?

microsoft office powerpoint 2007 ? what the heck is this thing all about? can anyone tell me in LAYMAN'S terms as i`m only a novice and looking through my programs to see what are any good,but this one beats me. i also got 2003 m/s o pp viewer on my computer do i need to have the two on here?

It's a program to play PowerPoint presentations if you don't have PowerPoint, or if the computer you're presenting the presentation on doesn't.

If you have the 2007 version, you can remove the 2003 version.

Powerpoint is software for creating presentations.

Powerpoint viewer is free software for viewing presentations created in Powerpoint.

2003 and 2007 are version numbers.

2007 is backwards compatible with 2003 and will open the newer file formats that 2003 can't cope with.
