i need the number to ring microsoft to get them to fix my xbox red ring of death. i have heard that they pick it up and drop it of, is this true. how long does it take?

If you are in the UK its 0800 587 1102, i phoned them the other day about my RRoD 360, you give them some details, name, address & the xbox serial number on the back of your console, they send you a plain box to ship it in, bubble wrap the console up aswell to try and avoid further damage

I think the numbers at the back of the Xbox manual, could be mistaken though - I remember having trouble finding the number. They pick it up and send it back to you for free providing you're within the 1 year warranty. With RROD, you get an extended warranty of 3 years I believe, so there is a benefit to the dreaded curse. Turnaround time for xboxs (in my case anyway) was surprisingly fast taking a little over 1 week, they say it could take up to 4 weeks though in a worst case scenario.
