Recently I had to go in and have Windows re-installed on my computer. When I got the computer home, Microsoft Word was no longer installed. I am tempted to take the computer back to best buy and have them fix it, but I was wondering if there is any way i can re-install it myself.

the discs that I have are "application and driver recovery dvd" and "operating system cd - microsoft windows xp home sp2"

  1. You'll need to buy Microsoft Office for Windows to have Word. If you had Word before you got Windows re-installed, you should still have the Microsoft Office cd.

  2. Personally, I'd be greatful. Microsoft Word causes more problems than it's worth. Use Notepad, or go out and buy a good word processor.

Windows doesn't come with Office installed. When you bought your computer, did you have to install Windows, or did it come installed (like a Dell)? If you did it yourself, you should have the Office cd. If someone else did it, they should've given you the cd. Or else, they still have it.

  3. buy office software, they are not bundled with windows, i guess you can try it out as it wil take 5mins to install and i should be included in a normal reinstall of windows. or ask a frnd for office cd
