Panasonic NN-S541 .... comes on, runs for about 3-4 seconds and then shuts off. Doesn't matter what cycle I choose, I get same results. I do hear some "strange" noises (clicking??) coming from the right-side middle to rear of the oven the short time it's running. Also, I get a VERY faint odor akin to electrical smell. It is so very faint as to make me wonder if I'm imagining ... it's that miniscule. I only paid $100 for it new, so I'm not wanting to take it to a repair shop ... thought there might be something I can handle. If not, I'll buy a new one. Thanks!body { background: #FFFFFF; margin: 0px; padding: 4px; font-family: arial, verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;}p { margin:0px; padding:0px;}.spwrap{background: transparent url(../wysiwyg_rte/misspell.gif) repeat-x scroll center bottom;}I have a Panasonic microwave oven model NNS532WF and I am also having this problem. Everything works as it should UNTIL you push the start button. When it starts up the clicking sound starts and then after 5 seconds everything shuts down, game over. body { background: #FFFFFF; margin: 0px; padding: 4px; font-family: arial, verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;}p { margin:0px; padding:0px;}.spwrap{background: transparent url(../wysiwyg_rte/misspell.gif) repeat-x scroll center bottom;}From what I've read, microwaves are supposed to last about 9 years. That means this should be good for a few more years but perhaps that is due to it just being a poorly designed product. I know one thing, I will definitely be purchasing new microwave before I shell out to buy a new inverter to get it repaired. Panasonic has the part available but as you can see it clearly is not worth it. A606Y4T00APHI VOLTAGE INVERTER162.58 Especially if you have to pay a labor cost on top of it. I do not think I will be replacing my microwave with another Panasonic one and I will be checking to make sure it is NOT built with an inverter.
