Microwave is not giving off heat. ?

My microwave works to a point. Its does not give off heat. The fan blows cold air. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

  1. It's called a magnatron. It's dead. Nothing you can do due to repair shops will cost you at least $30 in labor to install a $25 part. Better off buying a new one.


  2. The gizmo that creates the radio waves that do the heating has bitten the dust. It will cost more to have   the microwave repaired than to replace it unless it is under warranty.

    If it is under warranty it will be a dead heat, repair or replacement.

  3. None of these people have fixed a m/w before, your problem could be low voltage or a high voltage problem. there are many fuse links in a m/w, and door switches that can go bad and make it not heat. It is best to take it to a person who is trained on how to fix since they make and store power even when unplugged. I have fix thousands of m/w over the years, yes cheap counter tops are not worth repairs.
