Microwave outside getting hot?

The outside casing of new-ish my microwave is getting very hot. That isn't right is it?

that is not the bad thing if the out side is hot the real question is is the food in the microwave getting hot or does it stay cold...???

It depends on what you heated convection and conduction will move heat through out the equipment. Try reading the manual that came with the appliance and see what is said!
