How can I tell it is time replace my Microwave oven

Obviously, if something is broken or cracked, get a new one.

If it's not heating your food/drinks well anymore, if it's making unusual noises, or producing unusual smells. Depending on the wattage of the oven, it may take longer than 1 minute to boil a cup of water. But if it's taking longer to heat the same items, then there's a problem. Good luck!

1.  It doesn't work

2.  It's on fire

3.  It's lying in pieces on the kitchen floor

4.  The door is missing or the glass is broken

5.  Your roommate cooked something really nasty in it.

6.  Test heat a bowl with 1 cup of water.  If it takes more than a minute to reach boiling - get a new oven.
