Mid Season Analysis Nico Rosberg
For Mercedes the season had not been as good as they expected it to go. As Michael Schumacher made his return earlier this year the expectations of the race fans went up to the skies. However this season Schumacher had not been able to give his best and the responsibility of the team came somewhat to the teammate, Nico Rosberg who is comparatively a new racer for the Formula One world. Though the season had not been anything out of this world for the racer but still he had been able to do well.
Nico who started his auto racing career in the year 2002 and won ADAC Championship with nine victories and also became the youngest person to drive a Formula One car at the age of seventeen now stands as a strong member of the Mercedes team. Before launching his career with Formula One he had been racing in different series like, Formula Three Euro Series and GP2 championship etc. He launched his career with Formula One in the year 2006 with team Williams.
At the present the German racer stands at sixth place in the Driver Standings, with a total of ninety points earned so far, one place behind the Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso who had been able to bag ninety eight points.
Over all the year had been neither exceptionally good for the racer nor it had been very bad. The Mercedes car that he is driving is also not one of the best as he has not been able to get the best out of it. The first race of the season at Bahrain was started by him at fifth place on the grid and also ended the race at fifth place earning a total of ten points from the season starter.
Later in Australia he ended the race once again at fifth point, this time starting from sixth on the grid. At the start of the month of April, luck turned towards him as he was able to do really good at the qualifying and began the race from second place on the grid and was able to land at third place in the podium.
The good luck karma continued in the following race in China as well where he started from forth place on the grid and ended earning another fifteen points as he finished the race once again at third place.
At Spanish Grand Prix he had not been very lucky as he dropped his position to thirteenth starting from eighth place on the grid. At both Monaco and Turkish Grands Prix he started the race from sixth whereas ended at seventh and fifth places respectively. The German entered the Canadian Grand Prix with a total of sixty six points whereas left it with a total of seventy four points as he ended at eighth place.
The European Grand Prix had also not been a very good one for him as he was only able to get a single point finishing the race on tenth place only. The last race of the season so far, held at the Silverstone circuit last month brought him another podium finish as he ended at third place and now has a tally of ninety points.
The team has shown a lot of satisfaction as well as hopes from the driver as he had been able to grab enough points, and also had been able to beat some of great racers and best cars in the previous races. At a time when luck did not stand much at Schumacher’s side the team is depending much on Nico for some good points.
