Middle East + Women = ?

The mentalities of men in the middle east is that Women are a weaker s*x.

They restrict their lives, become the owner of them.

Over the years, Women have learnt and now have this mentality. They don't expect anything from their husbands, they take c**p from their brothers. They know not to wear clothes that reveal skin.

Do you ever think their mentality will change?

Your observations are not apt. I think you need to understand a little more about the subject before you mouth off about it.

I think you will find many Muslim women will find your characterization of them patronizing. At least from my experience of talking to Muslim women outside the Middle East some choose to wear the traditional clothes and adopt traditional values, and some don't. At least outside the Middle East many women choose these traditions.

No, not as long as their men have the legal right to beat them to a bloody pulp and even kill them. They would be risking way too much by going against the cultural grain. They would absolutely be physically harmed or even killed and nothing would be done about it.

We are talking about a country who let a girls' school burn to the ground, with the girls inside, because they forbade them from leaving the school without their head coverings. They would not let the girls leave the school. That is how they look at their women - they would rather these girls burn to death in an inferno than be outside "dressed immodestly" (meaning, showing their hair and faces). In a country like that, the women have to choose between complying and being severely punished. Tell me, what would *you* do in that case? Comply and live, or rebel and face horrible suffering? Little wonder they have the mentality they do. It is a matter of survival.

Okay, now I'm all angry! LOL Nothing like a dose of rage first thing in the morning...

EDIT - should have added, it isn't like this everywhere in the Middle East. Some places are worse than others. And when they emigrate to North America, things are very different too because of our laws. But for many women this is the reality they live in.

When their culture changes and if they become more liberal, then their mindset will change.

I semi-agree with everything except the not wearing revealing clothes. I think the guys are really missing out on that one.

No, go and live in one of their countries and learn about the culture.

In some Muslim countries the girls dress like western girls and wear bikinis on the beach.

Bare in mind that it only a wet week since christians were burning women at the stake.

I don't think you can generalise all women in the middle east as being the same.  Many are part of very traditional Muslim cultures, others less so.  Some Muslim women are extremely well educated, some are professional women.  Some live in more oppressive situations than others.  With marriage, some I daresay are happier than others, just like marriages everywhere.
