I know there are probably a lot of threads about this...but I'm going to say it once more...I'm in middle school and we're currently right now in tryouts for X country...you have to be in the top 60 out of like 90people...tryouts are 3 days long....same route everyday seeing if you run consistently...well i made it into the top 60 but i wanna make sure i make it again and again...how do i stay on top and run faster?

If I do make it into the team what do i need to do too to stay fast?

THANKS EVERYONE!!!

  1. another fellow cross country runner! i was in cross country when i was in high school. remember this, running is 50% physical and 150% mental will power.  now obviously those numbers aren't right. =] but what im trying to say is think of how well you are doing, you need to stay positive, keep going even when you REALLY want to take a breather. i totally understand where you're at. just stay confident, and motivated. and most of all have Fun!

for the physical stuff, drink lots of water, i don't know where you run or how far you run, but it's important that you don't get sore. stretch before you go to bed and before you run.  remember when you are running to pace your self, you don't want to start out fast then get slower. find some one that you know will most likely make it. and try to keep up with them. if they go too fast slow  down a bit. I HOPE YOU DO WELL!!! good luck!
