Middle School Volleyball Uniforms?

Question

What does the majority of middle school girls teams wear, spandex or a loose basketball type short? Most of our girls play club and wear spandex but a new middle school is opening and we're trying to get the principal to change his mind about the basketball type shorts. Any thoughts?

our middle school team didnt wear spandex but they were not basketball shorts they were just a little longer than spandex and not as tight...our high school team has spandex and so did our club team.

my school wore spandex, and most of the teams we played did. but i did have some friends that went to private schools that had to wear the longer, non-spandex shorts (their principals did not approve of the spandex either)(btw- my friends hated wearing non-spandex). preferably, i like spandex, and if your girls also prefer spandex, just tell the principal that the spandex is actually apart of the 'equipment'/uniform of volleyball.

at my school... varsity had to wear spandex and jv could wear what they wanted to wear.  the principal was really uneasy about the whole spandex thing, so we wore longer spandex (not butt showing ones) with looser shirts that didnt show our stomachs when we jumped.  in other words, we werent decked out in all spandex.

i know the feeder middle school for my high school wore slightly baggy shorts that were to mid-thigh. when i was in middle school we wore those type of shorts with spandex under.

Is the school buying all new complete uniforms?

If they do not want you wearing spandex shorts, maybe its b/c they are too short.

You can come to a compromise by getting spandex with a longer inseam. & If the principal still doesn't approve. Then you'l have to get over it- YOU'RE THERE TO PLAY VOLLEYBALL not LOOK CUTE.

the uniform you wear does not really affect your game that much (unless you're self-consious playing in spandex.lol) :]

our team had the same problem. We just approached the principle one day and told him what we wanted to do and he said no, all the boys will be staring at your ***, but we didnt listen to him we just wore our spandex anyways and when he saw us and realized that there were no boys checking us out he alouded it and now we can wear them

we wore our pe shorts which is just plane normal shorts, i would rather basketball shorts, they are easier to jump in :)

Oh my god. When I was in 7th and 8th grade, we had to wear bigger jerseys then the basketball team. It was ridiculous!

Anways tell the principle you let the wrestlers and the football players wear spandex :). Seeing a bunch of 7th grade boys who haven't gone through puberty in spandex with straps is not a pretty site....

I used to wear P.E. shorts.

It's only middle school, so you don't need spandex, man.
