Does the middle school varsity volleyball team usually have a libero?

  1. im in after shcooll middle school varsity thing and we dont get a libero so i dont think so


  2. Yes! Most of the time but not always!

  3. Yes, if the coach had found it needed. It is not compulsory, but, according to FIVB, libero is a standard player. I do not know, on the other hand, if there is some rule book for school varsity teams... Should you enquire about it, addressing your coach, you shall most likely get the answer... ;)

  4. My middle school team does because I am the libero for my team. But I've only seen one other middle school team that has one in my area.

The junior high and high school rules are governed by the NFSHSA.  The rules do allow a Libero.  They do not require that you use the Libero.  If you have a player that is an outstanding defensive player, it makes sense to use the Libero.  The Libero can play almost every play in the back row.  The defensive specialist will only play about half of the game in the back row.
