Middle school youth group

Question

I'm starting leadership at my church this week, which is a group of high schoolers that lead small groups and plan fun things for the middle schoolers.

We're having a meeting this wednesday to brainstorm and think of fun ideas and retreats for the middle school youth group.

If you have any ideas that have been really fun or inspirational, please answer! Please nothing cliche or overused. Our church's youth group is modern and I really want to show them that the youth is pretty rad. :)

Our Youth group went to this FUN church study retreat called Monadnock! it was a blast!

Its in Monadnock new hampshire and its called New Hampshire Bible conference

i am in middle school and think it would be fun to just have everyone gather up give them a juicy topic and have them discuss it.

maybe you guys could like have a new trivia about the bible or play the chair game ?? its fun or musical chairs with christen music

It's great that you're so plugged into your youth group. We've done a variety of things with our youth group, but it ultimately depends on your time, location, and budget.

I've always enjoyed the game of mafia. It's free, fun, and gets the kids to know each other's names and personalities. "Never have I ever' is another fun ice-breaker.

If you're looking for a great retreat or camp, try BigStuf or CIY (websites below). They're both AMAZING and really get the kids engaged. Plus, you have the opportunity to interact with kids from other churches across the country. Good times.
