Middlesex has signed fast bowler Anthony Ireland on a two-year contract following his release from Gloucestershire.

"Anthony is a wholehearted cricketer who gives you everything he has in each match. His record and statistics are improving all the time and at the age of 26 he has plenty of time to improve further and
many good years ahead of him," said http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Middlesex-c817 director of cricket Angus Fraser.
Ireland has a great deal of quality and skill that should make him a very productive player for his new county. However, Middlesex will be forced to play without him at points next summer while he's on
international duty.
Ireland took 36 first-class wickets at an average of just over 21 last season, which was better than any other bowler in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gloucestershire-c785. He's
also played 26 one-day international matches for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045.
Quality and skill
Ireland is a very fit bowler who is capable of bowling long spells. This will be very useful during long four-day games where he is building pressure up on some top quality batsman.
Ireland is not the fastest bowler in the world but he is very accurate. He puts the ball consistently in the same place, which is very difficult to bat against. This again means he is able to keep good
players under pressure for longer.
His experience of playing for Zimbabwe and Gloucestershire means he shouldn't need a settling in period. It also means that he will be able to give younger bowlers tips and guidance.
"I met with Angus Fraser and was impressed with what he had to say and his vision for the club moving forward. It is a fantastic challenge for me a this stage of my career and I am really looking forward
to playing regularly at Lord's and helping Middlesex push for honours," added Ireland.
Betting advice
Ireland is a very good bet to take the most wickets for Middlesex next season in any form of the game. He's also a very good bet to take five wickets in any match. He will enhance Middlesex's chances of
success, especially in the county championship.
