Middlesex v http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sussex-c852 - County Championship Division One - Day 2 – Live Score and Update
Sussex 283 v http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Middlesex-c817 229/3 (68.0 ov) - Middlesex trail by 54 runs with 7 wickets remaining in the 1st innings
Lord's, London: Fans enjoyed a commendable batting performance from Middlesex and Sussex on the second day of their four-day match on Thursday, May 31, 2012 as Middlesex trail only by 54 runs with seven wickets in hand in their first innings after clobbering 229 runs in response to Sussex’s first innings total of 283 runs.
Sussex resumed their first innings from 242 runs for the loss of eight wickets with SJ Magoffin and JE Anyon in a bid to bat for most part of the day in order to irritate the opposition by making them run around the field.
While Magoffin batted tentatively, Anyon raced to 24 runs before becoming TJ Murtagh’s fifth wicket of the innings.
Later MS Panesar was the last wicket to fall as he jabbed 15 runs to help his side end the innings on a high with Magoffin unbeaten on an 18-run knock.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ST-Finn-c2566 was the second best bowler for Middlesex as he took three wickets to leave the batting side in a spot of bother.
They then had an unimpressive start to their innings, losing their first wicket with only six runs on the board as SD Robson faltered without troubling the scorers.
However, CJL Rogers and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JL-Denly-c1703 took hold of the situation as they hammered the bowlers out of town to get their team back in the match, taking the score to a massive 151 runs before the partnership ended on the wicket of Denly, who found his way back to the pavilion after bolstering an impressive innings of 67 runs.
DJ Malan then lost his wicket cheaply as he fell after adding just a run in the total score.
It was then time for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/EJG-Morgan-c1419 to rise to the occasion as he forged a brilliant partnership with his skipper to take down the naked aggression launched by the bowling side.
While Rogers stayed unbeaten on 93 runs, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Morgan-c77707 stood tall with 52 runs under his belt at stumps.
