Middlesex 2nd XI cruised to victory against Glamorgan 2nd XI by five wickets in a match of the Second Eleven Trophy, at the Brunton Memorial Ground, Radlett in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 on Friday, July 15, 2011.
Most part of the match was dominated by the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Glamorgan-c784 2nd XI, as the team set a solid target of 365 runs for the opposition. However, an unbeaten 158 runs from Dan Housego confirmed a victory for the Middlesex 2nd XI in the end. He
was the top scorer of the match, as none other batsman from each side managed to score a century in the game.
Toss was won by the Middlesex 2nd XI’s skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adam-London-c921, who decided to field first. The pitch was good for the batsmen, but it was expected to get better and better with the passage of time.
The start for Glamorgan 2nd XI was not an ideal one, as they lost three wickets for just 16 runs on the board. However, the innings was held together by Daniel Roberts and David Brown.
The pair put together 114 runs for the fourth wicket partnership, guiding their team to a solid position. Brown was dismissed after collecting 62 runs with the help of nine fours and one massive six.

Glamorgan 2nd XI managed 304 runs in their second innings, losing nine batsmen. The team already had a first innings lead of 60 runs and decided to declare after reaching 300.

However, the team lost three quick wickets during the chase, which put them under immense pressure. They were brought back into the match with a spectacular partnership of 168 runs between Housego and London.
The latter got dismissed after scoring 76 runs, but Housego remained unbeaten until the end with 158 runs, guiding his side to a magnificent win.
Ashling picked up another four-wicket haul in the match, but lacked support from the other end, as the match was won by the Middlesex 2nd XI by five wickets.
