Middleweight contender Andy Lee to return on March 10 – Boxing News
Middleweight contender Andy Lee will be making his ring return on March 10 against Alexis Camacho. If Andy Lee wins defeats Camacho, he will move on to challenge WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez on June 2 in HBO’s televised fight. The bout between
Lee and Camacho will take place at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan.
It should be noted here that Lee was withdrawn from a March 17 HBO-televised fight, and now he will be fighting on March 10, one week earlier to his previous bout.
In addition, this event will also be marking the return of Kronk Fight Night in Detroit. The event is being promoted by Kronk Gym’s Emanuel Steward. Emanuel, expressing his excitement on the new breed of fighters of Kronk, said, “This is the most talented
group of youngsters I have had since the days of Tommy Hearns, Hilmer Kenty, Mickey Goodwin, Milton McCrory and Jimmy Paul. Many of the youngsters on this card have the talent to become world champions.”
New fighters onboard include Tony Harrison, Jacob Bonas, LeAndre White, Ernie Garza of Saginaw and Wade Tolle Jr.

Andy Lee was an Olympian who later shifted to the world of boxing. His debut fight was in March 2006 at the Joe Louis Arena, Detroit, against Anthony Cannon. Lee won over Cannon via points decision over six rounds. He further went on to become the Irish
Super-middleweight champion by defeating fellow Irishman Jason McKay in Dublin at the National Stadium.
Lee’s most brutal defeat was against Brian Vera on March 21, 2008, during his ESPN 2 debut. Vera defeated him by TKO in the seventh round. The result of the bout soon became victim of controversies because Lee was winning on points and was in good shape
when the referee stopped the bout.
As of now, Andy Lee is highly confident that his comeback will prove fortunate for his career. If he wins, he will be able to move ahead and compete with the bigger fishes of the industry.
