Midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong confident of breaking into Arsenal first team next season – EPL news
Arsenal http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/U-17-Youth-team-c40787 midfielder, Emmanuel Frimpong is confident of making a breakthrough to the first team in the next season.
Frimpong was expected to be involved in the first team action in the ongoing 2010/11 season but a serious knee injury ruled him out of action for a long period. The 19-year-old returned to the reserves team action last week after being sidelined for more
than 9 months.
The youngster admitted that he had a difficult period through the injury and feared that he might never recover from it. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 U-17 star is disappointed with how the season has turned out for his team as the Gunners’ trophy drought has been extended
to six years. However, the midfielder remains upbeat that his team has enough quality to recover from their dismal performances in the next season. Frimpong has still not given up on the chances of winning the Premier League in the ongoing season despite his
team trailing the league leaders, Manchester United by six points.
Talking to the reporters, Frimpong said, "Next season could be Arsenal's season and next season could hopefully be my season. I am quite confident if I don't get injured I can do something big.”
"You have to stay injury free but sometimes it is just down to bad luck. Hopefully next season I'll have a good year and won't get injured. There is hope but if you have to be honest you have to think either Manchester United or http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 are going to win
it," he said.
Frimpong praised his club manager, Arsene Wenger, for supporting him throughout his rough period when he was out injured. He added that Wenger is a great manager and that is the reason for him being at the club for such a long time. The defensive midfielder
added that Wenger gives his youngsters a fair chance in the first team – a quality that no other top managers possess.
Frimpong is raring to make a big impression at the club next season and he is delighted with the way his youth team-mate, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Wilshere-c17463, has pounced on the opportunity and become a first team regular this season.
