Midfielder Franck Ribery claims that he has no problems with manager Jupp Heynckes- Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery has stated that he shares a very good relationship with manager Jupp Heynckes and there is no problem between them. The player played down rumours stating that there is tension and maintained
that he has nothing but respect for the former Bayer Leverkusen tactician.
Jupp Heynckes was named Bayern Munich coach this summer after the club witnessed a trophy-less season last term and manager Louis van Gaal was sacked. Heynckes guided Bayer Leverkusen to a brilliant second place finish at the end
of the season before parting ways with the club.
Ribery claimed that he shares a friendly relation with the coach and insisted that it would be very difficult for him to play at his full potential if he does not enjoy the game and has differences with the boss.
“We have a very good relationship, and it's very difficult for me if I don't have a good relationship with the boss. I don't enjoy my football and I don't play well,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Olympique Marseille midfielder admitted that he has not played his best football in the past two seasons for Bayern as his time has been plagued with injuries. The winger missed almost two months of the last campaign
as he suffered an ankle injury in September in a match against Hoffenheim.
“The last two years have been more difficult, partly because I kept picking up injuries. A lot of negative things happened, which made it a very tough time for me,” he continued.
However, the French international was confident that he would overcome his injury problems next season and would help his side win more trophies.
“But I'm strong. I've kept my head held high and always followed my own course. Everything is perfect again now, for me, for my family, and for FC Bayern,” the attacking midfielder concluded.
Franck Ribery has 52 international caps to his name and has found the net seven times in the process.
