thats sick, i dont wanna read midnight sun either until its published,

i cant believe stephanie felt soo strongly towards this, its like.... i dunnoo maybe 1000 people or a bit more would read it, im sure most of us wont read it.. its not finished anyways, and i hate reading half the story, its like.. whats the point?!

Call me cynical, but I think it was "leaked" to bring about hype and interest in the movie that's soon to be released.

After all, Meyer has released a copy of the draft on her own site now and a statement claiming she knows who released the first one. If she knew and there was only a handful of drafts around, the person in possession of it knows they're not going to walk away without consequences. Who would risk the lawsuits for copyright violation? I sure as heck wouldn't.

Give it a year or two, she'll publish a print copy. I'm almost 100 % certain of that.

My little sister is pretty unhappy right now though, she's the big Twilight fan around here.

I am so devastated I might break down and cry right now. I'm heartbroken. I can't believe this is happening. I feel so bad for Stephenie. I cannot imagine the pain she is experiencing right now. She must be so sad right now. Why is the world like this? Full of evil people with evil intentions. Why can't they wait for the book to come out? Must they disrespect the author in a way that her loyal fans [who still loved Breaking Dawn, even though lots of crazy people kept bashing it] are also affected? I cannot believe the way things have turned out. You know, if I ever meet the idiot who leaked Midnight Sun, I'm going to slowly but painfully kill him/her to death.

hmm well all i can say is that im disappointed, she did say indefinately however so lets have some hope that she may continue one day. just at the moment i think shes concentraiting on her family and the host sequel. i think it will come back to her i think she will continue just not now.

i watched that video and i cried i even commented. this is a sad day in the twilight community so all the haters should have a bit of respect.

You people are so naive!

No. 1- No one would not publish a book if they had the amount of fans Meyer does. She would not throw away all that money for 'artistic integrity'.

No. 2- Giving a book that is obviously causing a buzz out to people is stupid and no one would be that stupid to not realise it would be leaked.

No. 3- Don't you want to see if it's good before you spend money on it? What about those people who hated BD? She's probably afraid that someone will not buy it because they read it and didn't like it. She has little faith in her books, in that case.

No.4- Everyone knows you write better with emotions. Clearly Meyer wants to write non-emotively, for money.

I can't blame her for being upset that an uncompleted draft was posted. I don't like people reading my work before it's finished either.

That said, pirating is part of today's world, and I think it's immature and unprofessional of her to announce that she's so hurt she'll NEVER finish MS. Come on. If you can't stand the heat, don't get in the fire.

100% of HP and the Deathly Hallows was leaked before it was released and JKR just rolled her eyes and continued on. Flouncing around about being "violated as a human being" just makes SMeyer look like some silly, attention-seeking BNF.

I was devasted when i heard. I love the series. And I just can't believe this was done. But still, I dont see how SM can stop writing it. Its not like she's facing writer's block. I understand that she is facing some emotional barrier now, but aren't we all? The true fans of SM and Twilight are here to support SM, and she needs to understand that we need Midnight Sun. Its completely childish if she comes to an abrupt stop and doesnt write it.

And one thing I dont understand is, how come people hate BD? I dont understand that. It was a great book. It was a tad different from the others, but still...What's not to love?

OMG That is what spoilers do to authors. People should be ashamed of themselves to destroy something like that to so many people. It;s disgusting.

I was so looking forward to reading it too. It would have been so interesting to read, especially after reading the first chapter on her site. I really hope they do publish it!

I would never read the chapters on the internet, one because of things like this, and two, because it recks the whole experience of waiting for it and the excitement when it finally comes out.

Isn't it worth the wait so that we can buy it and add it to our collection?

Edit: We are not at all naive, whoever said that. SMeyer said herself that she doesn't know if she can continue after her trust was broken in such a way. I feel so depressed now. I was counting on Midnight Sun to make me happy again after the last book (which I love - just said that it's all ended).

I hope she feels better enough to write again soon. True fans like us need this book. And not a rough, unedited copy but the real thing.

I'm depressed now...I didn't even know that there would be leaked copies, I don't think like that.  

I feel terrible for her, and I feel worse because now she has posted it on her website for people to read.  I can't read it, it isn't the same as holding it in your hands.  Not the same experience, it's not how stephenie wants her readers to experience it.

Kerry I think the difference between HP and the deathly hollows is that it was completely finished when it was leaked, I think Stephenie would have released it if it had been entirely done, but she is saying that she is in a bad place because of it being released and it not being finished that the book wouldn't really go the way she wanted at this moment in time, maybe in a few months or years she will be up to it again.
