Question:

Midol overdose????? ?

Today I accidentally took more than the recommended amount for Midol because I got it mixed up with my allergy pills on accident. I took 3 when I was only supposed to take 2. Will this harm my body or make me sick??? If so, are there any ways I can prevent these problems?

Much thanks in advanced, and please no bad comments!! =]

  1. Usually 3 doesn't do anything serious or make you sick.

It could make you drowsy though, i'm sure.

I've taken three before on accident because I have allergy pills too.

    And i've been perfectley okay.

    Haha.

    :)

  2. I dont know where the girl above got her information but if you look at the back of the box you can see that the active ingredients in standard Midol are:

    Acetaminophen 500 mg

    Caffeine 60 mg

    Pyrilamine Maleate 15 mg

Of these the only one that has a real risk of overdose is Acetaminophen which is toxic at levels above 200 mg/kg. For it to be remotely toxic you would need to intake at least 10 gm or 20 midols and most likely at this dosage you would only experience minor liver damage (not all that much worse than a drinking binge.)

  3. You can overdose on midol but you didn't. You'd have to take a maximum of 4 doses in one day or 3200 mg to overdose. Don't worry, just be more careful next time.
