Midway Rouble, a leading contestant for the Bookmakers Midi at Henlow on 10th May
The Bookmakers Midi will be held at Henlow over 550 metres flat on Thursday, 10th May. Competing in the £150 event are Stressmanagement, Vital Clue, Mullpark Romeo, Midway Rouble and Sundance Saffy.
The leading entry for the race is Midway Rouble, Top Savings’ four-year-old black and white son out of b***h, Midway Tomsscout. He has already raced nine times during the new season and out of those starts he has won four times.
His seasonal debut was in the January Midi Dup on 12th January at Henlow over 550 metres. It was won by the 2/1 favourite of the race, Bubbly Ebony, who went through the distance in 33.78 seconds and was soon followed in by Ballintine Molly.
Concluding the race third behind the winner was Midway Rouble who took 34.12 seconds to settle the race.
The very next start of the season had him winning a Grade B1 550 metres flat on 3rd February at Henlow. The 10/11 favourite winner timed the track distance in 34.07 seconds. He led the runner up of the race, Honeygar Rose, by two and a half length.
Double Talent settled third behind the winner.
After being declared not raced in the third attempt of the season, Midway Rouble won a Grade B1 550 metres flat at Henlow on 17th February. The 11/10 favourite winner went through the track distance in 33.75 seconds and led the runner up, Honeygar
Rose, by three lengths.
This victory onwards, the four-year-old did not let his ranking get driven down the second position. He took part in five more races, won two and scored second in the remaining three.
On 16th March, he was the 4/5 favourite winner of a Grade B1 550 metres flat at Henlow by completing the trip in 33.98 seconds. Westmead Athena finished the closest to the winner, missing the race by a mere half length’s difference.
His most recent attempt and win was in a Grade B1 550 metres on 27th April at Henlow. This time he was entered as the evening’s favourite and settled the race in 34.66 seconds. He took command of the final five lengths and had Lughill Lass concluding
the race the closest.
There is hardly anything that can come between Midway Rouble and his victory tonight.
