Do you live in the mid-west? How have these killer tornadoes and floods effected you?

How often do you fear that a tornado will strike you?

Have you suffered from the floods at all?

Given the increasing frequency of these storms, do you have any plans to move to a safer place?

  1. No.

  2. 1) Affected

    2) Why is this question in the global warming section?     This Spring has been cooler than the 20th century average in the US - whether or not global warming is man-made, it has zero to do with the floods or the tornadoes.

  3. Like johnny b said it as been worst.  People just did not hear about the like now.  I lived in KcMO when the whole Plaza was wipe out by a flood.  MY and his crew, every year when the GM plant flood out.  There would be cottonmouths swimming around.  They had to wear waders.  No worst just more coverage

  4. If you lived in these areas you'd know the frequency of these events hasn't increased in the last 200 years.

  5. Yes, They haven't, I don't live my life in fear of anything, no, no.

I only want to move out of Minnesota so I don't have to deal with winters anymore.

  6. If you look at history you will find that we are in an "average"period. For example, the period from 1860 to 1900 saw the eruption of Krakatoa, a result of which many thousands of people died and the earth saw 3 years of "summer without sun". Famine was everywhere and America saw the largest mass migration of people ever known due to food shortages throughout Europe and Asia. This was followed by severe climate swings and the  "dust Bowl Years"which made the great depression much worse.

  7. You might not get much of a response sense they are without power or underwater....but I know from the past, your life will forever change when struck by a disaster like that.   God bless those people.

  8. I am 77 and it has been worse.
