Question:

Might my kid get red hair?

I was just wondering about this. One night me n my bf were at a park under a pavilion and with the light shining on his hair I noticed that he had red highlights! I thought that was quite interesting. He has dark brown almost black hair overall and he is a mix of Hungarian and Belizean. I'm Irish. On my side of the family we have redheads pop up now and then. My great grandma had red hair, as well as an uncle of mine, cousin, and a 3rd cousin. Also, both me and my sister were born with red hair, and she had strawberry blonde hair for many years until she got older. Our dad is a brunette, but his facial hair grows out red red red! What do you think are the chances that if me and my bf have a baby, that it will have red hair?

  1. You never can tell. Both my parents had brown hair...I have blonde, my younger brother and older sister have red hair.

    I'm glad I didn't get it.

  2. Yea I would have to agree with the everyone else. There is a 50/50 chance. Sometimes children are born with hair that hasnt been in the familys for years. Me and my husband are both really dark brown headed but my husbands father is red headed and all my husbands sisters are brown headed and there children are too. But my baby has brown hair with red highlights. It been that way since she was born. So its just a throw of the dice!!

  3. yes there is.. a 50:50 chance..

because i think you are homogeneous red hair..

s that if you are homogeneous and your boyfriend is recessive then you will have a chance of 50:50..

  4. It's quite possible. I'm very dark featured, dark brown hair, brown eyes, and when I was pregnant I was confident that my child would be dark featured like me, boy was I EVER wrong, he has light hair like his dad and blue eyes.

  5. i think 50 50 chance . i think baby would turn out dark .
