Mighty Clarets confident to win Selling Stakes
Mighty Clarets is quite confident to demonstrate a winning performance and clinch the ace title of the Gilmorton Selling Stakes, a high-profile Class 6 contest that will take place at Leicester racecourse on Monday, June 4. The action will commence at 3:05
(GMT).
The Barry Leavy-trained brown gelding has been in good form since the dawn of 2012, but it has been long since he bagged a victory.
The reason behind his being a favourite contender for today’s race is his outstanding struggle that he exhibited in the last outing.
Running against 5 competitors in James Ward Selling Stakes on May 21, the five-year-old veteran horse fought well and finished as a runner-up.
Earlier, he had gained a runner-up rank on January 21 in Blue Square Winter Carnival Iphone App Selling Stakes. He moved on to finish 3rd while being 5-4 favourite in Bet & Watch At Bluesq.Com Selling Stakes on January 23.
As a whole, the talented son of Whipper out of Collected has won 4 of his total 30 races to date, earning £16,498 as prize money.
Now, Mighty Clarets is going to compete against 9 rivals such as Bez, Iulus, Oakdown, Jessica Ashton, Wreaths Of Empire, Dine Out, Eight Letter, Ladram Bay and No Time To Cry.
The dashing gelding will fight hard for victory on the good course of 1 mile, 1 furlong and 218 yards. If he wins, he will walk away with the prize cheque worth £2,045.
Though Mighty Clarets looks to be strong enough on the card but Iulus can wrest success from his jaws convincingly. The John Quinn-trained gelding started his career with a runner-up rank on June 21, 2011. He beautifully manages to break his maiden no later
than July 24.
The novice runner nicely finished 9th in his last start on May 26, 2012. Currently, he is carrying a lot of fervency that will help him give tough time to Might Clarets.
Thus, there will be a nail-biting clash in the race. The event will draw a big bankroll. Let us enjoy the fabulous action. Good luck to all the contestants.
