Migraine headaches in 3rd trimester.?

I am 29 weeks 2 days, and today I think I had a migraine headache. I have had bad headaches through out my pregnancy and when I get the ones that don't go away for days I call my doc and he says its hormones and prescribes vicoden to break the cycle. But I am worried that the head aches could be something else because with my first pregnancy I had pre eclampsia. I did have an appointment today and my blood pressure was good and had only gained a pound in 2 weeks. So what do you guys think? just hormones? Also I don't have a history of migraines. Never had one before but what happened was it was like someone was shining a bright light in my eyes just around the outside of my eye and I could see normally through the middle. If that makes any sense, and I was talking to my kids and they seemed like they were miles away from me. My mom said it sounded like a migraine cuz she does get them a lot. So what do you guys think

  1. I had pre eclampsia with my first son and had all normal blood pressures and everything seemed just fine. My second pregnancy was very similar and I got constant migraines. Believe it or not headaches tend to be common and very rarely do they mean anything. Again check with your doctor and make sure he is really listening to you.

  2. Yeah it sounds like you have a migraine. I get them often and they really do take a toll on you. It sounds like it could just be hormones. Do you have any other signs of pre eclampsia? You could talk to your doctor about giving you fioricet if you keep getting them. It is a migraine medicine that is safe to take while pregnant. I hope this helps. good luck
