i get migraines multiple times ayear but in the past two years i have had 5 extremely bad migraines that had to be treated in hospital. each time im admitted to hospital i spend about 2 weeks in there and as a result im missing a lot of school.

Before i actually get the migraine i collapse and completely lose my vision and half my face tingles then goes droopy. I also can't speak properly and get very confused (i don't know who ppl are, where i am,etc), as well as constant vomiting even when there is nothing left to throw up!

i've had so many tests and the doctors cant seem to find out what's casuing it. i am on so many medications as a way to prevent it happening but nothing seems to be working.

i really need help! i've collapsed about 3 times at school and its not only scary but embarassing (me in migraine state isn't very attractive!!). Im so scared of getting another migraine and i really dont want to go thru all the pain again!

so any help would be apreciated!

thanks!

  1. Your poor chicken! I have been suffering from migraines for the past 2 years really bad like you I get them roughley once a week where I am vomititng and am left paralised in pain, there is not much reaserch as to why they occur, you should watch out for the onset symptoms of migraines such as tirdness and yawing (this happens when the blood vessles in the brain are getting smaller) and that is when you should be taking your migraine medication when the migraine starts and you feel the pain it is because the blood vessels get so big and the blood is ruching through and it causes you pain and your vision to go funny and also your speech.. I have just had my 2nd MRI and again nothing was shown, if you have only had cat scans you should be demanding s MRI but I doubt you have anything to worry about.. My migraines run in the family you should ask your parents if they get any? Usually migraines start around you age from 16 to around 22. I am currently taking 10mg of inderal in the morning and 10 at night I am so happy with the results I hardly get migraines at all anuymore and didnt get any side effects from the medication, stay away from foods like citrus foods chocolate and wine.. Sorry for the long essay I hope you are ok I am sure there is nothing to worry about but definantly ask you parents and grand parents if they suffer with migraines x*x

  2. I suffer from them as well, and the medication Midrin really seems to help me.
