Question:

Migraine help please?

Hi, I think that I have been having migraines for about a year now. They seem to be related to hormonal changes but are not every month. I have not seen a doctor about them yet, just because I haven't been too concerned, but am planning on mentioning it at my next appointment. Anyway, my question is, is it normal to feel a sudden pain where the migraine was when coughing or bending over, or when you first stand up just after the migraine has gone away, or even the day after? Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

  1. Migraines certainly can be related to hormonal changes, but I'm not familiar with these symptoms (but I don't know everything!)  I do know I was diagnosed with chronic sinusitis on the basis of pain when I bent over and coughed -- is sinus trouble a possibility?  I actually *did* have blocked sinuses -- and surgery to correct this -- but migraines as well. Following the surgery I didn't t have pain when I bent over etc., but I did have the headaches. Life's complicated.

This site is an excellent source of information about migraines:

But talking to your doctor is the best first step!

  2. yes it's normal, I get migraines all the times but for some reason lately I feel a sharp pain when I bend over. I've been to the doctor and they prescribed TOPAMAX, they also told me to go into a very dark room with no noise of any kind.
