  1. tell your doctor they give u a prescription that will really help.

  2. Could be hormonal, my daughter was prescribed some birth control pills that helped her migranes. I take a beta-blocker that has helped a lot. There are many different kinds of medicines that prevent and treat migranes. You need to go to the doctor to find what works for you. I've had some awful migranes with vomiting myself so I know how you feel, good luck.

  3. There are medications that you can take on a daily basis to reduce the number of migraines that you get. There is also medication to use when you get a migraine. See your Dr. You can also sit in the bathtub with hot water running over your head, this dilates the blood vessels and lessens the headache. You can also use a product called Head-On. It comes in a tube alot like a giant chap stick. You rub it on your forehead. You can also try Excedrin Migraine.

  4. Hey, I also get migraines although they do not sound nearly as severe as yours.  I started getting them when I was around 13 to 14, but they have gotten less frequent and less severe as I have gotten older.  Mine affect my vision, putting wavy lines in front of my eyes, usually to one side or the other.  I have found that mine were related to blood sugar levels.  If I consume a large quantity of sugar, like drink a coke then usually in a day or two I will get one.  I found that when I do get one, drinking milk helps clear up the vision impairment, and it also helps to reduce the pain to some extent.  I regulate my sugar intake to prevent them.  I hardly ever drink any carbonated soft drink, which seems to be the main culprit.  Also Wendy's Frostees seem to trigger them as well.  Eating meals on a regular basis is a key as well, which I don't really do but should.

The sensitivity to light and sound is a common description, but throwing up is not as common and an indication of a more severe condition.  Going to the ER in the middle of one would probably not help very much because there is not much they could do at that point, and would be very expensive.  A better alternative would be to see an internal medicine doctor and discuss all the symptoms and seek whatever remedies they might suggest.  Unfortunately, I don't think there is a whole lot they can do, but I may be wrong on that score.  I hope you find some relief, I'm sure it is very difficult, but at the least it should get better as you get older.

  5. Migraines can be caused by the killer sugar table sugar and sweet foods loaded with white sugar or refined sugar include desserts, cakes, cookies, biscuits, chocolate and ice cream.  See item 71 in http://www.rheumatic.org/sugar.htm .

  6. They would probably give you some pain medication and probably something to make you quit vomiting (called an anti-emetic).  You should note some of the following things and take this information to a doctor to be evaluated.  They can help:

What are some triggers to your migraines?  Foods, activities, etc.

Do you have prodromal symptoms?  That means can you feel it coming on?  If you take medication for them now, you should take it at the very first inkling that you may be getting a migraine.

You really should be evaluated by your family doctor for this.
