  1. Europeans - - - mostly - - - in search of an easier life than the one known at home - - - America was stealing land from the Natives and offering it for cheap to those willing to work it - - - those immigrants first stopped in places like New York or moved on the places such as Cleveland & Cinncinatti & Chcago & Pittsburg to work for a few years in factories and in slaughterhouses & such in order to earn enough money to purchase 'cheap' land stolen from the Natives.

Following the not so Civil War many rural 'blacks' migratted to the big cities thinking there would be jobs but usually White Americans preffered giving jobs to white European Immigrants instead.  Thus there was this large labor force of newly freed slaves forced to starve while white Europeans were given work!!!!

(this last tidbit is something no self respecting American teacher will ever tell you - - - 'you' are expected to believe that it was a good thing for millions of white Europeans to settle on land stolen from the Native while 'native N^groes suffered!)
