who would win in this welterweight battle. i think the cotto that fought tony in the first 6 rounds was the best cotto we ever seen.. i think he would ware trinidad down with body punces and knock him out in the late rounds or win by unanimous dicision.

Good Question. I wrote an article about this proposed fight recently. I matched both fighters in their 147 lb prime. This was before Cotto lost to Margarito but I don't think that matters. Trinidad had trouble handling someone that could box. And he didn't have a chin like Margarito to stand up to the punishment.

trinidad was a murderous puncher at 147, and didn't lose a fight 'till he moved up to 160.

he beat camacho, whitaker, de la hoya, blocker, joppy & vargas, so tito would ko cotto in 9 rounds.

Who ever said here that tito beat oscar is full of it. oscar was robbed by the judges. We all know that!!

Remember Tito also declined a rematch with oscar..

Man it was not that long ago when Trinidad was at his best some fans wont even of seen him then..As Cotto is all they know.

Well Trinidad could be dropped with a good shot but he could knock you

out with a left hand or knock you out with a right hand he would of been at his best in with a Cotto type fighter he would of had Cotto in a blood stained state that it would have to been stopped in 6rds. if MARGO did that in 11rds Think what Tito would of done to Cotto...

You have not forgot him already. shame his last fight was with Roy Jones. Tito he was beating him to the punch Just to big for him. did his best for the fans.

Funny thing is, I would bet on Trinidad beating Margarito. Just like the old sayin goes,"styles make fights". Remember:
