As Real Madrid move into La Liga’s top half, director of football, Miguel Pardeza, took out time to praise the effort put in by Jose Mourinho and his players.
Moreover, the former Real Zaragoza and Los Blancos player also had words of praise for Rayo Vallecano, who have the uncanny ability to make matters worse for the Spanish giants.
Pardeza could not put his finger on the reason it is difficult for travelling sides to get a result at the Campos de Futbol de Vallecas, claiming that it could be either the dimensions of the pitch or the footballing philosophy of La Liga outfit that makes
they a hard team to manoeuvre on the road.
“It is especially difficult here. I don’t know whether it is because of the dimensions [of the pitch] or because of how Rayo play, because they are a team that defends well with aggression and determination, but it was important to take all three points,”
he told assembled reporters.
Continuing on the topic, the Real Madrid board executive shared that they needed a victory against their name in La Liga given their poor domestic form.
He added that the fixture was all the more important as it came on the back of a tricky UEFA Champions League game against English champions, Manchester United.
“We needed to win well after a demanding game against the Premier League champions [Manchester City] and this game was crucial because we were becoming detached from the top of the table.”
Pardeza also had words of praise for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629 who scored his third La Liga goal of the 2012/13 Spanish top flight football season.
“The way I saw it he wanted to put the ball in the net then looked for a teammate before shooting, but our opponents did not allow us to play the way we wanted.”
