Mike Adams refused to accept better offers as he signs contract with Philadelphia Phillies-MLB
Mike Adams declined better offers from various clubs while he decided to sign contract with the Philadelphia Phillies.
He has claimed that he had to overlook several options, which were apparently attractive, because joining the Phillies means more than just earning money for him.
He has agreed to a two-year deal with the Phillies. His role during the upcoming season will be throwing the eighth inning for the club.
His inclusion underlies concerns of the Phillies after their relievers struggled immensely during the 2012 season.
The Phillies were undone by their relievers, especially those that came on to throw seventh or eighth innings.
Time and again, they brought the club down from the position of strength to a weakness during the matches.
For example, there are a number of fixtures that can be quoted, when the team started off extremely well but due to the meltdowns of relievers, they failed to win matches.
Sometimes, substantial totals put on the scoreboard by the batters were made useless by hopelessly poor shows coming off from the relief pitchers.
Adams has been included by the Phillies to ascertain that bullpen does not disappoint again.
His impressive past record assures the club that he is a healthy addition in the team.
The fact Adams is enthusiastic about playing for the Phillies and doing something extra ordinary can further encourage the officials to rate him highly.
Adams has explained the reasons why he chose Philadelphia, among several options available for him.
“I had more guaranteed money elsewhere, but I don’t think just because it’s a vesting option ... I’m counting that as guaranteed money. I plan on fulfilling my contract for three years and hopefully beyond that. If all goes the way I see it, by the end of
my contract this is going to be a bargain,” Adams said.
The Phillies are one of the strongest teams in the National League East Division.
Playing for them is readily accepted by almost every player that wants to be named along with high profile organisations.
Adams will be looking to convert his excitement into incredible shows at the mound during the 2013 season.
