Mike Brearley censures MS Dhoni’s bowling decision at Lord’s - Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/John-Michael-Brearley-c68348, the former England skipper, did not understand Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s decision to bowl at the Lord’s test match in 2011, when England was in trouble during their second innings. He feels the Indian Captain made a mistake by bowling himself,
and not bowling Ishant Sharma, as he was the pick of the bowlers and getting the wickets.
The incident took place in the first Test of the four-match Npower test series. During the first day's morning session, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Z-Khan-c98379 pulled out due to a hamstring injury and Dhoni was desperate for wickets, as the other bowlers were not able to pick up any.
At the start of post lunch session on Day 2, the Indian captain came into bowl, while http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Dravid-c2229 kept wickets. Dhoni bowled 8 overs, conceded 23 runs, and did not pick up any wickets.
Brearley feel that this was the wrong decision at the time and he voiced his opinion to the media by saying, “I feel he missed something during the Lord's Test. England were six down for 100-odd runs in the second innings, and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/I-Sharma-c1566 was getting most
of the breakthroughs. Suddenly, he didn't bowl for an hour-and-half after that. That was a mistake from Dhoni.”
However, Brearley has hailed the leadership, batting and wicket keeping skills of Dhoni, terming his performances as ‘remarkably well’.
He said, “Honestly, I haven't watched much of Dhoni. But from what I have seen, I think he is a wonderful batsman and very good wicketkeeper. He has got good results and has done remarkably well under pressure."
Since Dhoni became the Captain of the Indian team, the team has won the ICC World T20 in 2007 and they were recently crowned the ICC World Cup 2011 champions. Apart from this, he has won two consecutive Indian Premier League (IPL) titles with the Chennai
Super Kings.

tour, where they were whitewashed in the 4 match test series. He is confident of the team’s performance against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 even though they have bowling problems yet again, as they did in the summers against the English.
