http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556 is jittered - Cricket News Update
Mike Brearley, the former captain of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chinnadupargea-Sachin-c50607 Tendulkar.
During a panel discussion at the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Raj-Singh-Laxmansinhji-c83382 World Cricket Summit, the 69-year-old former wicketkeeper batsman said that though it is not easy to judge a player’s performance while sitting miles away, but Sachin seems jittered, adding that it could
be due to the burden of scoring the historic hundredth international ton, a mile stone the Master Blaster has been struggling for since the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 World Cup earlier this year.
"It is not easy analysing anyone sitting faraway. But he does look as if he is jittered," said the former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Middlesex-c817 cricketer.
Replying to a query regarding Sachin’s long awaited hundredth century, Brearley said that the burden of expectations and the hype surrounding his ton of tons has affected his performance in the past couple of series.
The 38-year-old http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Maharashtra-c811 batsman failed to capitalize on a couple of starts during the winless tour of England earlier this summer and was sacked by the English bowlers after crossing 90. Last month Sachin seemed to be in good shape to pile up the record
against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJG-Sammy-c1382 at 94.
The former England skipper - who had led the side to record 18 Test wins – said that though Sachin is under pressure of scoring the record century, he should not be underestimated as he can turn the tables any time.
Recalling http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s tour of England in 2006, Brearley said that despite not being hundred percent fit the veteran had beautifully scythed through English bowling attack and went on to score few 90s.
"One of the things that I have admired about him is that during the Indian team's last tour to England (in 2006) he was not fully fit coming from an elbow injury. He was not in the best of form too. But he struggled and made a few 90's in the tour," he said.
India is touring http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 these days and many feel the legendary batsman will pile up the record during the tour down under, but only the time will tell whether the Aussie attack allows Sachin to achieve the mile stone.
