I have a story about Mike, it was in the old first division days. a match at Belle Vue between Wakefield and Warrington, Wakey about 30 yards from the line and Billy Conway went from acting half, beat two defenders dummied the full back when he should have passed to Andy Kelly and went in for the try. Mike must have been injured that day and was sat in the stand behind us, I looked round after the try and Mike was stood up and applauding and shouting 'great try', yes, he was Wire through and through, but a top Rugby League man to boot.
