Mike Hesson, the coach of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 at Galle, informing the middle-order batsman that he is going to be sacked from captaincy.
New Zealand Cricket (NZC) announced earlier today that the cricketer from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BB-McCullum-c1129 in all three formats of the game.
Hesson, who took over the role of New Zealand’s coach earlier this year after the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915 before the Galle Test, following the Black Caps’ miserable performance in the limited-over series against the Islanders. The visitors failed to win a single limited-over fixture during the recently-concluded tour of Sri Lanka.
The coach however, revealed that he wanted Taylor to continue as the Test captain, wanting McCullum to lead the side in the shorter formats of the game.
“Unfortunately, there's never a good time to deliver news like that. I didn't mention if it was in one, two, or three forms of the game,” said the New Zealand coach.
After being demoted from the national captaincy, the middle-order batsman has opted out of the upcoming tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757.
Hesson understands that it is Taylor’s personal decision but the mentor is disappointed that he will not have the services of his premier batsman against the world’s best Test team.
“I'm sure Ross has his reason for not coming. It was a difficult decision to have. Ross has clearly been affected by that, as anyone would. We're very disappointed, but understand he's made his decision,” Hesson expressed.
The coach did not want one guy to lead the Kiwis in all formats but Taylor’s refusal to accept Test captaincy only has not left the authorities with any choice but to handover the leadership to McCullum in the five-day version as well as in the limited-over formats.
“It's been a very unfortunate week, and a difficult week and not the result anyone wanted,”' he added. ”I'm not exactly sure of his stance. We don't agree on everything.”
