Mike Hussey unfazed by swing bowling - Cricket News Update
The hard hitting http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MEK-Hussey-c1942, has played down Rohit Sharma’s claims that the Aussie batsmen could be vulnerable against the Indian swing bowlers, saying that his side is not fazed by swing bowling and will counter the Indian attack
to their best.
The 36-year-old middle order batsman from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Western-Australia-c865 agreed that swing bowling is one of the most difficult deliveries to counter and they did not have much exposure to swing bowling. However he turned down the perspective that moving deliveries would
make them sweat in the upcoming four-match Test series against India, adding that the Australian pitches also do not support swing bowling as such.
"The fact is it's (swing bowling) a very dangerous art form. If a bowler is generating good pace and swinging the ball, any batsman will find it tough," Mike Hussey wrote in his column published in an Australian weekly magazine on Sunday.
"We haven't had much exposure to swing bowling as those from some of the other nations. As a general rule, our pitches have been hard and flat and not conducive to consistent swing. But I don't believe we have a problem with it," he added further.
Hussey’s statement has come following taunts from few Indian players that they would try to try to pressurise the Australian batsmen with swing bowling in the four-match home Test series starting on December 26, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RG-Sharma-c2309, the middle-order Indian batsman had last week said that the hosts have problems against swing bowling and his side would look to capitalize on this when they take the field against the mighty Aussies, later this month.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Z-Khan-c98379 joined Sharma in his findings and had promised to unsettle the hosts' batting line up with his moving deliveries.
Hussey said he had no doubt about Zaheer’s swing and was sure http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s pace bowling spearhead would generate plenty of movement through the air; however he said that they were ready to counter the world class swing of Zak.
He further added that toss will play crucial role in this regard as it is always a bit of moisture on the MCG wicket on the first day.
