Mike Pyle to take on Paulo Thiago at UFC 142 in Brazil – MMA News
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will hold UFC 142 on January 14, 2012 in Brazil. The match card of the night has now included another fight, which has taken considerable amount of attention from fans and critics from all
around.
The Brazilian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Paulo Thiago will meet the American MMA fighter, Mike Pyle in the octagonal fight ring. Their match, scheduled for the welterweight division, will be one that many spectators are anxiously
waiting for. Although Pyle, the 36-year old MMA fighter from America has a better win/loss ratio than Thiago, but the American would need to be on top his game when he meets his Brazilian opponent.
Thiago will be fighting in his hometown and the Brazilians will give him all the support he needs. This will make situation unpleasant for Pyle for he will be entering the octagonal fight ring in enemy territory. Keeping in mind
the intensity the Brazilian fighters are capable of unleashing on their opponent, Pyle could be at the end of a severe beating as Thiago would have a huge psychological advantage for standing in the middle of his own supporters.
Pyle, nicknamed Quicksand, has won 21 fights in his MMA career, lost 8 and one went down as a draw. On the other hand, Thiago has won 14 fights and lost 3. None of his fights were drawn. He has always fought with a focused mind
and will be doing the same at UFC 142. Thiago has a success rate of 58% with his submission moves and can have a clear shot in applying his submission maneuvers. Pyle, on the other hand, has a lower success rate in all three fighting stances namely striking,
takedown and submission. The only advantage he has over Thiago will be by his height as the American stands in at 6ft 1in while the Brazilian measures at 5ft 11in.
The American MMA fighter, Pyle, lost his last match against Rory MacDonald at UFC 133 in August 2011 in the first round and would be looking to come back by a win over Thiago. The Brazilian, on the other hand, won his last match
against David Mitchell at UFC 134 in August 2011. If Pyle has a better MMA record then Thiago has an equalizer in the form of his home ground advantage, which could become a dominating factor Pyle could not cope up with.
