Mike Redmond becomes 11th catcher turned manager in current Major League Baseball - MLB Update

As Miami Marlins hire Mike Redmond as manager, they continue with the tradition that former catchers can produce better results for the team than other players.
Exactly living up to the contemporary standards, they have made Redmond 11th manager in the current Major League Baseball that played as catcher in the past.
The team that won World Series Championship this year, the San Francisco Giants, also has the former catcher as skipper. It is easy to conclude that the Marlins may have taken inspiration from the Giants while inducting Redmond in the club.
Redmond has spoken in the favour of the idea of relying on catchers for doing the managerial job, stating that they know the best about the game. They are the most engaged during the matches as they participate in every single event that happens.
Catchers occupy an ideal position when it comes to analysing the role of different players toward winning the matches. They can objectively evaluate the factors that can prove significant in handing victories to the team.
The Marlins are hoping that Redmond turns out to be an ideal person to lead them.
Just like the rest of the teams that are being spearheaded by the former catchers successfully, they are looking forward to see him doing the same for them.
“It’s a unique position,” Redmond said. “We’re the position on the field who gets to see everything. We have the view of the whole field, every position. You have to be involved in everything. You have to be involved in the pitching, the hitting, base running.
You got to know the visiting team, know the players, their strengths and weaknesses. On top of that, you’re trying to hit against their pitchers.”
Redmond will be taking all his experiences into play to make sure the Marlins improve next year.
He will be aware of his job of creating a winning culture in the team. It will be interesting to see as to how he makes plans and implements them, in line with the requirements of the team.
Ideally, he will like to ascertain that the players under his supervision show incredible fighting spirit and battle hard during the matches.
