Mike Richter or John Vanbiesbrouck?

I think Beezer was the better of the two, while my friend sides with Richter. My reasoning is that when the two were in New York, Richter wasn't the #1 goalie. It wasn't until Beezer left for Florida where Richter became the starting goalie. In my opinion, that makes them at least equal, though I think Beezer was better.

My friend claims Richter was the backbone of the '94 team and he was the one in net when the Rangers had solid teams.

  1. Richter was better.... not only because of the '94 cup, but remember he (the Rangers) beat Beezer (Panthers) in '97....

I liked both goalies, but Richter was younger and the Rangers saw a longer future in him than Beezer

  2. They were both very good goalies. When Richter and Beezer were together they were considered a two headed goalie. They were indeed interchangeable. They both went on to become backbones of their teams . Richter in New York and Beezer in Florida. Richter was the lucky one that got a ring out of it. .That is the  only real thing that separates them.

  3. Beezerrrrrrrrr!!!!

  4. They were both really good goalies like Kimmy said. they had similar styles in net. i Prefer Beezer. Think he was better, but Richter has a Cup and Beezer does not.

  5. Richter has the ring. If Beezer were better, he would have the ring. Obviously the Rangers management saw something you (we) didn't.
