Mike Sandle appointed as New Zealand cricket team manager – Cricket News Update

The newly appointed Director of Cricket NZC, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/John-Marshall-Buchanan-c68302, was excited to have Sandle as the new Kiwi manager. While talking to the media reporters, Buchanan said that there were quite a number of candidates for the vacant post but Sandle was the stand
out.
The NZC Director hoped that in the presence of a manager of Mike's quality, the Black Caps would run smoothly.
"There were a high number of strong candidates for the position but Mike was the stand out. It's fantastic for the team and I'm sure he will do a great job in what can be a challenging logistics role,” http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Buchanan-c48808 said.
"He is an experienced manager who will have the respect of the players and along with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/John-Geoffrey-Wright-c67883 will help create an environment where the team can succeed,” he further added.
The 49-year-old will replace Dave Currie, who stepped down from the coveted role after the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747, from February 18 to April 2, earlier this year.
Sandle comes to New Zealand cricket with strong credentials, working with various rugby teams. His managing career with rugby dates backs to 2001.
During his 10-year-long career as a rugby team manager, Sandle worked with New Zealand Under-19s, Auckland provincial team, New Zealand Divisional XV and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Auckland-c766 Blues Super15s. He also held the prestigious position of Professional Development Manager for
Taranaki Rugby Union for two years, 2007 and 2008.
Mike Sandle, team manager of the Auckland Blues Super15 rugby team since 2010, said that he was delighted over being given the opportunity and hoped of having a good time with the New Zealand cricket team and the staff.
"I am delighted to be given this opportunity and I look forward to working alongside John, Ross (Taylor), the team and staff at New Zealand Cricket."
By profession, Sandle is a retired police officer who had been serving the New Zealand Police Force for 24 years. the Armed Offenders Squad.
