Mike Tindall and Mark Cueto join England to take on Romania - Rugby World Cup
Mike Tindall and Mark Cueto have been included in the English squad for their upcoming Rugby World Cup 2011 match against Romania on September 24 at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin.
Martin Johnson unveiled his 22-members crew on September 22 and featured seven changes in his team.
Tindall will make his entry into the English team after missing the last game of the world showpiece against Georgia. On the other hand, Cueto will play his first match of the ongoing global tournament.
Cueto was ruled out from the opening two games of the Webb Ellis Trophy due to an injury to his back. Tindall has been included in the team in the place of Shontayne Hape, who played the last game at inside centres’ position against Georgia. Meanwhile, Cueto
will start off the game on the number 11 position. Among the other major changes in England’s team, Jonny Wilkinson will be given the role of fly-half and Steve Thompson will be deployed at the hooker position.
Talking to the journalists about their next RWC clash, Johnson said his team is doing well in the field and he expects a good performance against Romania as well. He added that, “We're getting on with playing. It's not an issue. I said last week what happened.
The guys went out for a drink and we had that conversation last week. We've played a game since then and we're looking forward to another game this weekend.”
Talking about his frustration despite a comfortable victory over Georgia, Johnson said that, "I always look angry, even on a good day. It was a good honest review of where we are and what we need to do to get better.”
