It has been announced that, Princess Zara, daughter of Her Royal Highness the Princess Anne Phillips, and Mike Tindall, who captains the English rugby union team, will tie the knot on July 30, in the Church Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh.
The 32-year-old Tindall is an English rugby player who fills up for the centre position in his squad. He plays for the teams Bath, Gloucester Rugby and the English national team, under the English rugby union. He has been capped 62 times since his debut
at the tender of 18 in 1997.He has a consistent playing history with several injuries as well. His performance during the Six Nation was commendable as he led the English squad. He is now marching into the Rugby World Cup (RWC 2011), which scheduled just after
his wedding in July.
Princess Zara born in 1981 an is the only daughter of Princess Anne, Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips, her first husband. She is eldest granddaughter and sixth in line to succeed Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
On December 21, 2010, the Royal household had announced the engagement of Princess Zara to Tindall, which was the second announcement from the Royal Household in the fall of 2010, closely followed by the engagement announcement of Prince William to Catherine
Kate Middleton on November 16, 2010. Initially the wedding dates were not revealed but lately the word is out regarding the second much awaited royal wedding of the year.
Sources reveal that the wedding is going to be a small ceremony with the total of 20 invites on the guest list from Sydney. Sydney is close to the couples’ hearts, as they found each other in this city during Rugby World Cup 2003, where Tindall played a
total of six games out of seven for the Baths.
Speculations disclosed that these twenty guests, with James Erskine topping the list, are her friends from Australia which she made during her stay there in 2003. Also, it was told to an Australian newspaper that Erskine hosted Zara during her stay in Australia.
Erskine mentioned to the newspaper that, “Zara made quite a few friends here during her time with us, and they are friendships she has maintained. Sydney will be well-represented.”
Amongst other guests are; the Grands Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip; Princess Anne and her second husband Timothy Laurence; the bride’s brother Peter along with his wife Autumn and Prince Charles and Camilla are also going to be part of this discrete
ceremony.
According to Reverend Neil Gardner, who is the minister at Church Canongate Kirk, the church was already taken up by another couple but they have been requested to move their venue elsewhere to allow the Royal Wedding to take place.
