Mike Trout wins American League rookie of the year award – MLB Update
Los Angeles Angels centre fielder Mike Trout has won American League rookie of the year award for his extraordinary consistent performance in the recent past Major League Baseball season.
“Mike is a great player, but he really is a great kid, He has always been a good role model teammate, and he is still friends with all the kids he grew up with. Mike hasn't changed a bit. He still lives at home. His mother still gets on his butt about taking
out the trash,” said Jeff Trout, the father of baseball's brightest young star.
He added, “He's no diva. You'll usually find him out hunting or golfing with friends. He's had the same girlfriend since he was 15, Jessica Cox."
Trout finished 2012 campaign with .326 hitting average along 30 home runs 83 RBIs and .399 OBP.
Trout’s father also said, "Obviously it's a little bit different, We're bombarded with requests for signed balls and magazine covers, so that is different.”
This is great news that Angels’ rookie has won this prestigious award in a season in which his team itself could not show the desired results.
Angels, this recent past Major League Baseball season, had some tough times regarding their various new strategic plans. They needed a good start but their senior players disappointed them and did not show the true potentials on filed.
Instead, the Angels’ young prodigy made them proud with his consistent performance. Trout’s recent on and off relation with the Angels’ has given him the true push.
Since he joined the Angels, he has been called from the Minor League to Major League on consistent basses. However, on April 28, when he was given the chance to play in the 2012 Major League Baseball season, he grabbed this opportunity and showed his team
his true hidden skills and which now earned him the American League Rookie of the year award.
Before 2012, he was also given the chance to show his talents in 2011 but his 2011 stint was very short as he played only 40 games.
However, now, since he has been an active part of the Angels’ roster, experts do believe that Trout will be more successful in the coming years.
